Backland UL is the new Atomic helmet made to measure for alpine ski athletes and those looking for maximum lightness. It's all about protection and comfort with less weight: EPP In-Mold hybrid construction is durable, lightweight and supremely safe. Underneath the shell, Holocore and Atomic Multi-directional Impact Deflector (AMID) reduce weight, but also provide up to 40% more impact protection than industry safety standards. It's also certified to multiple standards for skiing, climbing and cycling, with a lightweight Skimo liner perfect for winter hikes or long summer bike rides. And like all Backland helmets, it comes with little details that make a big difference, like the front light attachment, removable strap and reflective elements.



AMID (Atomic Multi-directional Impact Deflector) is a revolutionary dual-density foam system that provides up to 40% more impact protection than others on the market.

Multi-Norm certified

Multi-standard certification ensures that the Backland helmet meets the safety requirements for skiing (EN 1077: 2007), climbing (EN 12492: 2012), and cycling (EN 1078: 2012, CPSC 1203). No more changing helmets on multisport days! Take the Backland helmet on any adventure, all year long.

360º Fit System

This 360° progressive adjustment system allows you to adjust the helmet not only to the size of your head but also to the shape of your head. It is also height adjustable for 100% personalized comfort.

Hybrid EPP in-Mold Mold Construction

The hybrid EPP In-Mold construction is our exclusive addition to the Backland helmet. It is super durable thanks to EPP edge protection on the bottom section. Additionally, superior in-mold construction means the EPS foam is molded directly into the PC shell. In this way an extraordinary lightness of the hull and extreme safety are achieved.

Recycled Liner Fabric

The lining uses a recycled material certified by the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). GRS is the international standard for responsible recycling chains and aims to increase the use of recycled materials, decrease the use of chemicals and improve the social and environmental policy of materials.
