It was born in 1928 when Narciso Dellaido handcrafted leather and wood boots for many woodcutters and farmers in the Fassa and Fiemme valleys (Dolomites, Italy). After the war, the demand for boots increased forcing Narciso to hire new workers: the good name of "Calzoleria Sportiva" crossed the borders of the valleys. From here, the history of La Sportiva continued to grow. At Velle de Fiemme, the firm now produces boots and shoes for all types of outdoor activities, from climbing and mountaineering, categories in which La Sportiva has market leadership, to the trail running, trekking and skimountaineerging markets. The company recently entered the skimountainering segment and apparel market with a full selection of technical clothing for running, skimountainering and climbing.
