Safety is the central guiding principle of the uvex group. To do this, the company is committed to innovative technologies, the highest safety standards and quality assurance. Founded in 1926, this family business from Fürth, with its many subsidiaries, is also very popular on the international market. The uvex product range includes accessories for winter sports, cycling and equestrian sports.

Brief history:

1964- Rainer Winter coined the brand name “uvex”, based on an abbreviation of the seal of quality for lenses: Ultra Violet EXluded. From then on, all sports and leisure products were sold and continue to be sold under the uvex brand.

In 1967, the uvex group began retailing stylish sunglasses under the brand name Filtral.

1972 - uvex downhill: the first ski goggles with an injection-moulded spherical lens and anti-fog coating.

In 1994, GmbH was divided into four market-oriented divisions in order to establish a suitable group structure for the future. UVEX WINTER

2007 - HOLDING GmbH & Co. KG takes over overall control of the Group

German sites continued to grow, with the expansion of manufacturing plants in Obernzell (BSA) and Lederdorn in the Bavarian Forest.
