Julbo quite simply takes its name from its Jura designer Jules Baud.

Founded in 1888, the company began by manufacturing protective eyewear for stonecutters. Around the 20th century, the brand launched into solar optics by creating a pair of sunglasses to protect the eyes of Chamonix crystal hunters in the mountains. With the single word innovation in mind, Julbo marked a revolution by creating the first glacier glasses. We can now go high, with our eyes well protected. Julbo relies on performance by supporting the greatest mountaineers, such as Eric Escoffier and Patrick Gabarrou, in their conquests of the highest peaks in the world. In the 2000s, Julbo, which had become a benchmark brand in mountaineering sun protection, decided to extend its expertise by creating ranges to suit athletes in all outdoor environments, but also ranges for more everyday use, always with very technical glasses.

Julbo is now a reference in the world of solar equipment, but the brand does not stop there and continues to innovate constantly. Today, the Jura company is diversifying and also offers protective ski helmets.
