The La Sportiva Akyra Woman GTX is the waterproof GORE-TEX shoe built for winter running: a protected structure adapted for ultra trails, ultra marathons and extended training sessions during the coldest months. With the Akyra, winter running becomes an art, thanks to an enveloping, comfortable and breathable fit specifically designed for the female foot, with a wide last for greater comfort on long-duration routes.
Three-layer construction and TrailCage system
The upper combines an AirMesh Ultra-Comfort interior with an exterior application of TPU thermo-adhesive microfibre MicroLite Skeleton™, delivering structure and flexibility that follows the foot's movement during a run. The abrasion-resistant water-repellent mesh, reinforced with Flex-Guard™ injections, protects against moisture and constant friction, while the fully seamless forefoot eliminates friction points. The TrailCage system integrates the upper with the outsole via a heel stabiliser and lateral TPU protections, delivering remarkable stability without sacrificing flexibility.
GORE-TEX Extended Comfort and dedicated wide last
The GORE-TEX Extended Comfort membrane keeps the foot waterproof and breathing even during long sessions on snow or muddy terrain, adding extra warmth for winter use. The wide last, specifically designed for this women's version, offers greater volume and comfort for wide feet or for those seeking more room on multi-hour routes, without losing the enveloping hold that defines the Akyra family.
FriXion® XT outsole with Trail Rocker™ and Impact Brake System™
The dual-density FriXion® XT outsole, with a design inspired by origami geometry to enhance flex, combines the Trail Rocker™ system that promotes natural outer-heel-to-inner-toe footstrike during a run. The heel lugs bite into the ground for better braking on descents, while the EVA injection in the MEMlex midsole adds extra cushioning with every stride.
