LOWE ALPINE

Greg, Mike and Jeff Lowe grew up outdoors: climbing, skiing, hunting and hiking. At twenty, the Lowe brothers were the most important climbers of their generation, but here they reached their limits. The backpacks they had at the time were too heavy and unstable. The brothers realized they needed a new type of backpack that would secure their gear and give them good freedom of movement even in difficult terrain.

In 1967, Greg Lowe developed, tested and launched the "Expedition" backpack with Lowe Alpine Systems. This revolutionary bag with an interior frame, compression straps and other revolutionary features gave climbers even more freedom of movement on the mountain. This backpack was a milestone in the outdoor industry: it has since served as the model for all modern and technical backpacks.
