The Salewa Ortles Med 3 RDS Down Jacket is the latest iteration of our warm insulating layer for alpine mountaineering, combining down warmth with minimal pack size. Its 90/10 RDS duck down fill, at 750 cuin, is combined with hybrid TirolWool® Responsive inserts placed exactly where the body needs them most.
Certified warmth with RDS down and TirolWool®
The white duck down fill, RDS-certified with a 90/10 ratio and 750 cuin fill power, is distributed in a 3D box construction that retains heat exactly where needed. TirolWool® Responsive inserts at the hood, shoulders and cuffs keep you warm even when wet.
Technical design for mountaineering and ice climbing
The lightweight, abrasion-resistant nylon ripstop outer fabric pairs with a bluesign®-certified downproof inner lining. The tailored, rear-adjustable hood with high collar offers maximum storm protection, while the free motion patterning and ergonomic sleeves and shoulders prevent hem-lift while climbing.
Alpine functionality and Salewa Committed
The 2-way front zip gives access to a harness and belay device, while high-set side pockets are harness-compatible. An inner chest pocket and integrated compression pocket round out a design built for the mountains, made under the Salewa Committed standard and free from PFAS.
