The Wildfire Edge Mid GORE-TEX® is a technical mid-cut women's shoe that combines the climbing precision of a climbing shoe with walking comfort, specifically designed as an advanced approach solution with enhanced performance across varying mountain weather conditions.
This technical approach shoe stands out for offering an all-in-one adaptative solution for both walking and climbing. Based on the Salewa Switchfit system, a smart and simple design developed with mountain guides in the Dolomites, it allows you to quickly adapt the fit: just tighten the laces at the rear eyelet to push your foot forward into the toe box. This compresses the toes in a manner similar to professional climbing footwear to increase edging performance and ensure maximum safety on technical terrain. Once climbing activities are finished, simply return the laces to their original position to relax the toe box and ensure a comfortable, natural movement during hiking. Its lightweight and flexible mid-cut upper is crafted from high-quality 1.6 mm suede leather, reinforced by the Exa Shell layer that optimizes torsional stability and wraps the foot perfectly.
To guarantee maximum precision during lateral supports, the inner insole incorporates an Edging Plate right beneath the toes and thumb, providing structural stiffness on edges while the rest of the base retains its flexibility to ensure walking comfort. The integrated GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort lining provides durable waterproof protection and high breathability, preventing water from seeping in while allowing sweat to escape quickly. Equipped with the Pomoca Speed MTN Pro outsole using a Pomoca butyl rubber compound, it delivers exceptional friction and grip on both dry and wet rock. The aggressive lug profile ensures solid traction on softer ground like grass or mud, while the 3F system provides flexibility and a secure hold at the heel. Additionally, it features an elastic gaiter at the shoe collar that keeps out snow, gravel, or trail debris, and allows you to customize the internal volume precisely via the modular MFF+ footbed.
