The La Sportiva Aequilibrium Trek GTX is the long-distance trekking boot of the Aequilibrium family, designed for backpackers and hikers seeking the perfect balance between technical protection and walking comfort. Its 1.6mm water-repellent Hydro-Perwanger® nubuck leather upper progressively conforms to the shape of the foot, while the GORE-TEX Extended Comfort membrane delivers total waterproofing in all weather conditions while maintaining active breathability during sustained effort.
Walking comfort with Double Heel™
The Aequilibrium Trek GTX integrates Double Heel™ technology, whose pronounced dual rear lug geometry increases braking effect on descents and promotes a smoother, more natural foot roll, reducing muscle fatigue on long days with a loaded pack. The 3D Flex System Evo™ provides a directional ankle articulation combining lateral support with freedom of movement, particularly effective on technical sections where the terrain demands constant adaptation of foot placement.
Vibram Spring-Lug outsole with Impact Brake System™
The Vibram® Spring-Lug outsole with Impact Brake System™ delivers reliable traction and precise braking control on both ascents and descents, thanks to the inclined and opposing lug arrangement. The outsole is resoleable, significantly extending the lifespan of the boot. The midsole combines PU foam with a 5mm TPU stiffener providing the necessary rigidity for demanding terrain without compromising overall flexibility.
Technical leather and quality construction
The Hydro-Perwanger® nubuck leather upper is PFC-free certified and abrasion-resistant, moulding to the foot's ergonomics with use. The rubber-reinforced toecap offers extra protection against rock impact, while 100% recycled laces and the La Sportiva Mountain Hiking 5mm insole with 10% recycled material complete a boot built for multi-day trekking and long-haul expeditions.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
- GORE-TEX Extended Comfort: A waterproof and breathable membrane made from ePE (expanded polyethylene). It keeps feet dry in wet conditions while maintaining active breathability during sustained effort, making it especially effective on long trekking days.
- Hydro-Perwanger® leather 1.6mm: A technical nubuck leather treated with the Hydro-Perwanger® process to deliver high water repellency without PFC. It progressively moulds to the foot's shape with use and provides high abrasion resistance on demanding terrain.
- Double Heel™: A heel construction system patented by La Sportiva. The very pronounced dual rear lug geometry increases braking effect on descents and promotes a smoother foot roll, reducing muscle fatigue on downhill sections.
- 3D Flex System Evo™: A multi-directional ankle articulation combining lateral support with freedom of movement. It allows the foot to adapt precisely to terrain irregularities while maintaining support control.
- Impact Brake System™: A lug design system developed by La Sportiva in collaboration with Vibram®. The inclined and opposing lug arrangement maximises ground contact points, absorbing impact and improving traction on ascents and braking control on descents.
- Vibram® Spring-Lug: A Vibram® rubber outsole with Spring-Lug profile and internal PU foam, designed for trekking on varied terrain. It combines grip on rock, soil, and mud with a reduced weight thanks to its foam-filled construction.
- Resoleable outsole: The sole construction allows replacement at La Sportiva-approved cobblers, significantly extending the boot's useful life and reducing its environmental footprint.
- La Sportiva Mountain Hiking Insole: A technical 5mm insole with 10% recycled material. It provides cushioning and plantar support during long loaded trekking days.
