Utensils for comfortable eating at the office or outdoors!
Designed in collaboration with designer Franck Fontana, the Picnic+ set brings together smart and durable accessories for convenient meals on the go.
It consists of:
- a No. 08 knife
- two utensils, a fork and a spoon, which attach to the handle of the No. 08 knife
- a microfiber napkin case for storage and cleaning
The inserts are made of stainless steel, ensuring comfort in the mouth, hygiene, and robustness (compatible with the No. 08 knife with a wooden handle and double safety ring, available since 2000).
To attach the fork or spoon:
- with the knife blade in the closed position, open the ferrule
- attach the fork or spoon to the ferrule in the small slots
- close the ferrule
The set is suitable for outdoor meals (picnics, bivouacs, camping, etc.) and for office meals!

Martensitic Stainless Steel
Hardness 55-57 HRC. European Origin.
The stainless steel used in OPINEL blades is an optimized grade to guarantee both high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance.
The blade has an excellent edge and high abrasion resistance, allowing it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before needing to be resharpened. Stainless steel has the advantage of requiring no maintenance under normal use, unlike carbon steel. However, it can reach its limits when exposed to an aggressive environment for extended periods (acid, salt water, detergent, etc.).
Yataghan Blade
The traditional Opinel blade is the Yataghan. Its shape is inspired by a Turkish saber, with an upturned tip. The blade is shaped with a unique domed profile that ensures the blade's strength and allows for efficient sharpening.
Handle
Beech is the most commonly used wood for Opinel handles. PEFC certified, it comes from sustainably managed forests in the Jura and Vercors regions. It is hard, durable, and easy to work. Its appearance is uniform, with a light color ranging from yellow to pink. It is recognizable by the presence of numerous small dark lines. The handle is varnished to protect it from moisture and dirt.

Safety Ring
Invented by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is featured on all folding knives from size No. 06 onwards. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety during use), it also allows the blade to be locked in the closed position (safe transport).
