The order will be received at its destination under the following terms:

Spain and Portugal:

For shipments within the Peninsula, the order will be delivered by a courier company (SEUR or MRW) within 48-72 hours after payment confirmation from the bank (always considering working days and excluding local or national holidays in both the sending and receiving countries).

Martensitic Stainless Steel

Hardness 55-57 HRC. European Origin.

The stainless steel used in OPINEL blades is an optimized grade to guarantee both high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance.

The blade has an excellent edge and high abrasion resistance, allowing it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before needing to be resharpened. Stainless steel has the advantage of requiring no maintenance under normal use, unlike carbon steel. However, it can reach its limits when exposed to an aggressive environment for extended periods (acid, salt water, detergent, etc.).

Yataghan Blade

The traditional Opinel blade is the Yataghan blade. Its shape is inspired by a Turkish saber, with an upturned tip. The blade is shaped with a unique rounded profile that ensures its strength and allows for efficient sharpening.

Handle

Beech is the most commonly used wood for Opinel handles. PEFC certified, it comes from sustainably managed forests in the Jura and Vercors regions. It is hard, durable, and easy to work. Its appearance is uniform, with a light color ranging from yellow to pink. It is recognizable by the presence of numerous small dark lines. The handle is varnished to protect it from moisture and dirt.

Safety Ring

Invented by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is found on all Opinel knives that close from size No. 06 upwards. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety of use), it is now possible to close the blade in the closed position (safe transport).
