Description
Specifications

The ideal tool for harvesting chanterelles, Caesar's mushrooms, button mushrooms, porcini, saffron milk caps, etc.

8 cm curved blade for easy cutting. Its serrated edge allows you to scrape and clean the mushrooms. The natural bristle brush at the end of the oak handle is ideal for cleaning the harvest.

The case is elegantly designed with a sheath.

Technical Specifications

Blade Length

8 cm

Martensitic Stainless Steel

Hardness 55-57 HRC. European Origin.

The stainless steel used in OPINEL forage shovels is an optimized grade to guarantee both high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance.

The blade has an excellent edge and high abrasion resistance, allowing it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before needing to be resharpened. Stainless steel has the advantage of requiring no maintenance under normal use, unlike carbon steel. However, it can reach its limits when exposed to a harsh environment for extended periods (acid, salt water, detergent, etc.).

Handle

Oak is a hardwood, particularly resistant to insects and fungi due to its high tannin content. Sourced from French forests, it has a yellowish-brown appearance with straight, regular grain. The varnished handle is protected from stains and moisture.

Handle Length

10.9 cm

Safety Ring

Invented by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is found on all folding knives from size No. 6 onwards. Made of stainless steel, the Virobloc consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety during use), it also allows the blade to be locked in the closed position (safe transport).
