The QUEST ELEMENT GTX W by SALOMON is a women's high-cut hiking boot built for demanding trekking, backpacking and multi-day traverses over mixed terrain. Crafted with a full-grain nubuck leather upper and fitted with a waterproof GORE-TEX® membrane, it delivers lasting protection against the elements without sacrificing the lightweight feel that defines the Quest line. The Advanced Chassis™ integrated into the outsole provides lateral stability on uneven ground, while the EnergyCell EVA foam midsole absorbs impact with every step.
Construction and protection
The high-cut design of the QUEST ELEMENT GTX wraps firmly around the ankle, providing additional support on technical descents and unstable surfaces. The nubuck leather upper features a Water Repellent treatment that complements the waterproof barrier of the GORE-TEX® membrane, keeping the foot dry both from external moisture and through internal humidity management. The gusseted tongue prevents stones, sand and trail debris from entering the boot.
Grip and stability
The Mud Contagrip® outsole employs deep, aggressive lugs made from a high-adhesion compound, engineered to maximise grip on loose, soft and rugged surfaces, including scree and broken ground. The Advanced Chassis™, a moulded insert integrated between the outsole and the midsole, delivers reinforced lateral support and torsion protection without compromising the natural flexibility of the forefoot.
Cushioning and comfort
The EnergyCell midsole, composed of high-performance EVA foam, provides effective shock attenuation during long days on the trail with a loaded pack. The moulded OrthoLite® sockliner adapts to the anatomy of the foot, improving cushioning, breathability and durability of the inner assembly. The traditional lacing system with Lace Locker allows independent pressure adjustment over the instep and ankle zones, achieving a precise and personalised fit.
