The S/PRO RACE 140 alpine ski boot by Salomon is built for competitive skiers who demand maximum power transmission, precision and control. Its narrow 96 mm last, combined with the twin-screw Race Spine between cuff and shell, delivers superior performance through the most demanding turns, while the 140 flex guarantees an immediate response at high speed and in aggressive carving.
The boot is fully dismantlable thanks to the Full Service system, which lets a bootfitter customize every component (buckles, toothplate, strap and pivot) to the skier's exact anatomy. The My Custom Fit™ World Cup liner features a fully removable Custom Tongue and a premounted 6 mm back spoiler, and comes with an extra 4 mm spoiler and laces included in the box to maximize lower-leg hold.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
- Custom Shell™ HD — Custom Shell™ HD technology lets bootfitters heat-mold the lower shell, or the shell and cuff together, in around 10 minutes. Thinner-wall construction and new shell materials bring the foot closer to the shell, improving sensitivity and power transmission to the ski. The result is a tailored fit that reduces pressure points without sacrificing stiffness or control.
- 3D Instep Shell — This shell technology uses thinner plastic and positions the second buckle at 45° over the instep, delivering a stronger heel lock and a more consistent foothold without unnecessary pressure in this area. The shell's reduced volume, typical of a race boot, reinforces this hold even further. It's one of the keys to the precise fit that carving skiing demands.
- Race Spine — This locking system adds an extra screw between the cuff and the lower shell, reinforcing the connection between the two pieces. The result is superior power transmission on every edge set, particularly noticeable in aggressive, high-speed turns. It's a technology exclusive to Salomon's race line.
- My Custom Fit™ World Cup — This race liner features a fully removable and customizable Custom Tongue that lets you add or remove foam to adjust instep height by +/-8 mm. Combined with the premounted 6 mm back spoiler, it delivers extra forward lean for more power and engagement through the turn. It's a liner built for an extremely precise fit in a bootfitter's hands.
- Alpine ISO 5355 / GripWalk ready ISO 23223 — The boot comes premounted from the factory with an Alpine sole certified under the ISO 5355 standard, compatible with ISO 9462 alpine bindings. It's also ready to swap that sole for one certified under GripWalk ISO 23223, allowing the boot to be adapted to the binding type or the skier's preference. This dual compatibility offers flexibility without compromising competition performance.
- Full Service system — All of the boot's key components (buckles, toothplate, strap and oversized pivot) are screwed rather than riveted, making full teardown straightforward. This gives bootfitters access to every part to replace or adjust it individually during the customization process. It's a solution built specifically for maintaining and fine-tuning competition boots.
