The La Sportiva Trango Tech Leather GTX is the perfect crossover between mountaineering and technical backpacking: a lightweight, waterproof debossed nubuck leather boot that keeps feet dry and protected across all types of terrain. Its clean, modern design minimises seams to maximise overall waterproofing, while the GORE-TEX Performance Comfort membrane delivers excellent breathability and waterproofing during long mountain days.
Ankle mobility with the 3D Flex System
The boot features the 3D Flex System, an innovative multi-directional hinge that allows the ankle to perform its natural movements without losing stability. This system improves foot control on difficult terrain footholds, increases the outsole's ground contact surface, and delivers a more precise foot fit with a firmer heel — particularly valuable for technical approaches and mountain guiding.
Low-profile Vibram Cube outsole
The low-profile La Sportiva "Cube" outsole by Vibram® significantly reduces the boot's overall weight while retaining excellent technical footwork and precise edging capability. The Impact Brake System™ absorbs impact and improves traction and braking, while the TPU heel insert allows secure attachment of non-automatic and semi-automatic crampons.
Durable, premium leather construction
The nubuck upper with microfibre reinforcements delivers high durability against wear. The integrated tongue, in soft stretch fabric, improves comfort when putting the boot on, while the ergonomic last generates a precise, wraparound fit. The anti-shock, low-density polyurethane midsole with PU-Skin protection reduces ground impact and supports extended use on demanding, loaded days out.

- GORE-TEX Performance Comfort: A high-performance waterproof and breathable membrane. Designed for all types of outdoor activities in changeable weather, it combines high breathability with moderate insulation for year-round climate comfort.
- Debossed nubuck leather: A premium technical leather with a debossed finish combining abrasion resistance and durability with a minimal-seam design, increasing the boot's overall waterproofing and reducing potential failure points.
- 3D Flex System: A multi-directional articulation in the shaft acting as an innovative hinge, allowing the ankle to perform its natural movements without losing stability. It improves foot control on difficult terrain and increases the outsole's ground contact surface.
- Vibram® "Cube": An exclusive outsole developed by La Sportiva together with Vibram®, with a reduced thickness to minimise weight without sacrificing technical footwork or precise edging on easy climbing passages.
- Impact Brake System™: A lug design system developed by La Sportiva in collaboration with Vibram®. The inclined and opposing lug arrangement absorbs negative ground impact and improves traction and braking control.
- PU-Skin: A protective coating applied over the low-density polyurethane midsole, reducing ground impact and extending the product's usable life under prolonged use on abrasive terrain.
