The Wildfire Edge GORE-TEX® is a technical women's approach shoe, durable, breathable, and waterproof, engineered to deliver enhanced climbing performance and walking comfort thanks to its adaptable low-cut design for technical mountain terrain.
This technical approach shoe stands out for its total versatility, being fully adaptable for both walking and climbing on exposed and technical terrain. Designed and tested exclusively with the assistance of mountain guides and professional climbers in the Dolomites, Salewa's Switchfit system is as simple as it is smart: by lacing and tightening the laces through the additional eyelet, you push your foot forward into the toe box in a manner similar to professional climbing shoes. This delivers enhanced edging performance and increased safety on technical terrain. To walk with them, simply loosen the laces to provide more space in the toe area and walk in complete comfort. Inside the highly abrasion-resistant 1.6mm suede leather and microfiber upper, it incorporates a waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort lining that protects the foot against rain and moisture while allowing sweat vapor to escape.
To guarantee maximum precision while climbing, the insole also integrates a rigid Edging Plate right beneath the toes for additional directional firmness, while the rest of the outsole remains flexible to preserve the foot's natural rolling movement and comfort. The Pomoca Speed MTN outsole is manufactured with a sticky rubber compound for superior friction on smooth rocks and slabs, featuring a lug structure tested on mud and soft ground to offer a balanced grip in both wet and dry environments. To improve torsional stability, the Exa Shell structure protects and wraps the foot to prevent slipping, structurally supported by the 3F System for support and flexibility, Climbing Lacing all the way to the toe box, and the high-quality Multi Fit Footbed Plus (MFF+) customizable insole with interchangeable layers that, combined with Salewa's Alpine Fit, guarantees a complete absence of chafing.
