The Wildfire Edge is a technical men's approach shoe, durable and highly breathable, engineered to deliver enhanced climbing performance and exceptional walking comfort thanks to its adaptable low-cut design for technical mountain terrain.
This technical approach shoe stands out for its total versatility, being fully adaptable for both walking and climbing modes. Designed with the assistance of mountain guides and top climbers in the Dolomites, Salewa's Switchfit system is as simple as it is smart: simply tighten the laces through the rear eyelet and lace them up. This pulls your foot forward into the toe box, compressing your toes in a manner similar to professional climbing shoes, for enhanced edging performance and increased safety on technical terrain. Once climbing is finished, simply loosen the laces from the rear eyelet to provide more space in the toe area and walk in complete comfort. Its robust upper ensures excellent breathability in warm and dry climates, keeping the foot cool during high-intensity activities.
To guarantee maximum precision while climbing, the insole also integrates a rigid Edging Plate right beneath the toes for additional directional firmness, while the rest of the outsole remains flexible to preserve the foot's natural rolling movement and comfort. It features the Pomoca Speed MTN outsole which, thanks to the Pomoca Butylic compound, offers increased grip and friction in both dry and wet conditions. The outsole features a precision climbing zone at the toe box, good performance on edges, and aggressive lugs for enhanced traction on mud and soft ground. To improve torsional stability, the Exa Shell layer protects and wraps the foot to prevent slipping, structurally supported by the 3F System for flexibility, Climbing Lacing all the way to the toe box, and the Multi Fit Footbed Plus (MFF+) customizable insole with interchangeable layers that, combined with SALEWA's Alpine Fit, guarantees a complete absence of chafing on cross-country routes.
