PRODIGIO HIKE GTX

The La Sportiva Prodigio Hike GTX is a fast hiking shoe that transplants the DNA of the Prodigio trail running family into mountain terrain. Built for hikers who want to move with agility and efficiency, it combines an ultra-lightweight High Tenacity mesh structure with a 100% waterproof GORE-TEX Extended Comfort ePE membrane, keeping feet dry in any conditions without compromising breathability. Certified as a vegan product and free from PFAS in its water-repellent treatment.

Knit Collar and progressive rocker
The Knit Collar in 4-way stretch knit fabric wraps the ankle to deliver support, stability and an effective barrier against stones, gravel and debris without adding stiffness or weight. The compression-moulded EVA midsole incorporates a progressive rocker that facilitates a smooth, efficient forward roll with every step, particularly effective on sustained gradients and long mountain days.

Bi-compound FriXion® XT 2.0 outsole with Impact Brake System™
The FriXion® XT 2.0 is a bi-compound outsole: stickier rubber at the forefoot to maximise grip on technical and dry terrain, and more durable rubber at the heel to withstand descent wear. The Impact Brake System™ with 4.5mm lugs improves uphill traction and downhill braking control on mud and rock. The integrated Rubber Toe Protection and Rubber Tail Protection shield the most exposed areas from rock and root impacts.

Lightweight and sustainable construction
The high-tenacity mesh upper with TPU+TPEE yarn and recycled content delivers lightness, breathability and superior abrasion resistance. The Tempo Ultra Wide last adapts the shoe to a wide, ergonomic foot shape, and the Strobel lasted construction contributes to overall flexibility. Laces are 100% recycled polyester, the lining mesh contains recycled material, and the 5mm Ortholite® Hybrid insole incorporates recycled rubber and production waste foam.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

• GORE-TEX Extended Comfort ePE: A high-performance waterproof and breathable membrane made from expanded polyethylene (ePE) and Bluesign® certified. It protects against rain and moisture while maintaining good vapour evacuation during effort. The version used in the Prodigio Hike GTX is free from fluorinated chemicals (PFAS-free).
• Knit Collar: A knit collar in 4-way stretch fabric that wraps the ankle like an integrated gaiter. It provides additional support and stability as pace increases, while acting as an effective barrier against stones, gravel and other debris entering the shoe.
• Progressive rocker: A midsole geometry designed to facilitate the natural forward roll of the foot, reducing effort with every stride. Particularly effective on long days with sustained elevation gain.
• FriXion® XT 2.0: A bi-compound outsole developed by La Sportiva combining two rubber formulations: a stickier compound at the forefoot for maximum grip on technical terrain, and a more wear-resistant compound at the heel. The Impact Brake System™ with 4.5mm lugs optimises uphill traction and downhill braking.
• Rubber Toe Protection + Rubber Tail Protection: Rubber reinforcements integrated at the toecap and heel area respectively. They shield the foot from direct rock and root impacts at the front, and provide structural support and protection on technical descents from the heel.
• High Tenacity mesh (TPU+TPEE): A high-tenacity mesh upper reinforced with TPU and TPEE yarns providing structural resistance and abrasion protection without unnecessary added weight. The use of recycled-content materials reduces the environmental impact of production.
• Ortholite® Hybrid 5mm: A hybrid-composition insole with 5% recycled rubber and 15% production waste foam. It combines cushioning, breathability and comfortable underfoot feel for long days on the trail.
