The Scarpa Ribelle Run XT is a reinforced trail running shoe born from crossing the Ribelle Run — a shoe that has won races like Zegama Aizkorri — with the lineage of Scarpa's Ribelle mountaineering boots. The result is an extremely rugged, protective shoe capable of handling technical mountain races, fast hiking, ultra trails, multi-day traverses, and high-altitude ascents, thanks to a construction that prioritises durability and foot security over pure lightness.
360° protection with EXO technology
The polyester and nylon upper, made with 60% recycled content, integrates EXO technology, a thermobonded TPU cage directly inspired by climbing footwear that wraps around the entire perimeter of the foot, delivering 360-degree protection and support. This construction makes the Ribelle Run XT one of the most rugged trail shoes on the market against impacts from rock, roots, and abrasive terrain, functioning almost like a low-cut hiking shoe.
PRESA TRN-05 outsole and enhanced stability
The PRESA® TRN-05 outsole in SuperGum compound features deep lugs and an enhanced heel brake system, delivering exceptional traction on mud, snow, dirt, and rock. Under the arch, a glass-fibre plate acts as a rockplate, protecting the sole of the foot from sharp impacts with stones while adding torsional stability on uneven, technical terrain.
Balanced cushioning for long distances
The medium-density 2D EVA midsole, combined with a 6mm drop and a stack height of 28.5mm at the heel and 22.5mm at the forefoot, delivers a balance between protection and ground feel. This setup is particularly well suited to runners looking for versatile use — from regular trail training to ultra distances and multi-day mountain traverses.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
- EXO technology: A thermobonded TPU cage wrapping around the entire perimeter of the foot, directly inspired by climbing shoe design. It delivers 360-degree protection and support, reinforcing structure and stability without excessively penalising overall weight.
- PRESA® TRN-05: A SuperGum rubber compound developed specifically for this model, with deep lugs guaranteeing reliable traction on mud, snow, loose dirt, and rock. The heel braking system improves control on technical descents.
- Glass-fibre rockplate: A reinforcement plate positioned under the arch that protects against sharp impacts from stones and roots, while adding torsional rigidity on uneven, technical terrain.
- Full-perimeter TPU rand: A protective band running around the entire contour of the shoe, raising the outsole rubber at the toe in the style of a hiking shoe, protecting the foot on abrasive terrain and compatible with microspike use.
- 2D EVA midsole: A medium-density foam offering a balance between cushioning and ground feel, suitable for both regular training and ultra distances where sustained protection is a priority.
