XA PRO MID WATERPROOF from Salomon is the mid-cut junior version of the iconic XA Pro 3D: the same grip, the same stability, and the same waterproof protection, with the added security of a higher cut that protects the ankle on the most uneven terrain. With a fresh look, the adv.DRY membrane, and really practical adjustments, it's built for kids and teenagers who want to take on any outdoor adventure with total confidence.
Waterproofing and ankle protection
The adv.DRY membrane forms a flexible, lightweight, fully waterproof inner bootie that keeps feet dry on wet terrain, in rain, and through puddles. The ~100 mm mid-cut adds support and lateral ankle protection on irregular, rocky, or obstacle-strewn trails.
Grip and stability on all terrain
The All Terrain contaGRIP® outsole delivers durable traction and confidence on wet, dry, hard, or slippery surfaces, while the sensiFIT™ construction wraps the foot for a secure, customisable fit tailored to each child's foot shape.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
- adv.DRY: Salomon's own 3-layer waterproof laminate: a PFC-free membrane sandwiched between 100% recycled outer fabric and a nylon backing. Built in as a flexible, lightweight inner bootie guaranteeing complete weather protection without adding stiffness, allowing natural flex in a developing foot.
- Mid-cut: A ~100 mm collar wraps and supports the ankle, limiting involuntary inversion/eversion movements on uneven terrain. In junior footwear, this added stability is especially relevant as the child's ankle stabilising musculature is still developing.
- sensiFIT™: Construction that wraps the foot from the midsole to the lacing system, distributing lacing pressure evenly. In junior sizes, this compensates for the greater morphological variability of the child's foot compared to an adult's.
- All Terrain contaGRIP®: Rubber compound with omnidirectionally oriented lugs and additional flex grooves adapted to the weight and size of the junior foot, balancing traction across variable terrain with durability in intensive use.
- Die-cut OrthoLite®: Sockliner cut to the exact shape of the shoe interior using microporous OrthoLite® foam delivering superior cushioning, breathability over conventional EVA, and increased durability. The open structure evacuates interior moisture to maintain comfort throughout active days.
