The Scarpa Instinct VSR LV is the low-volume, narrower-heel version of the Instinct family, built for expert climbers with slim feet who want maximum sensitivity. It adapts to a wide variety of footholds and angles, with unrivalled heel-hooking performance thanks to its slightly asymmetric last and medium downturn.
Low-volume last and Bi-Tension system
The slightly asymmetric, downturned shape with reduced volume and a slimmer heel pairs with the Bi-Tension system, which extends from the toe to the arch for high flexibility with optimal tension.
Mixed microfibre and leather upper
The upper combines microfibre and leather across 6 panels: microfibre in the upper section adds adaptability and comfort over the instep, while leather in the lower section provides greater stability and support, fitting precisely to lower-volume feet.
Vibram® XS Grip2 outsole, the softest in the Instinct family
The 3.5 mm Vibram® XS Grip2 outsole spans the front half of the foot, paired with a 2 mm hand-crafted heel in the same compound for unrivalled heel hooking. The 1 mm Flexan midsole distributes force across the foot while keeping maximum flexibility.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
- Bi-Tension: Rubber that wraps the foot along both sides of the shoe, providing support without compromising sensitivity. Fits slightly asymmetrical models particularly well, extending from toe to heel while leaving the middle free for more sensitivity.
- Flexan midsole: 1 mm insert distributing force across the entire foot and allowing excellent flexibility at the rear of the shoe.
- Vibram® XS Grip2: Evolution of the Vibram® XS Grip compound, with improved grip and compactness, ideal for edging on moderately inclined holds with consistent performance across temperatures.
- Toe-hook patch: Rubber on the toe specifically designed to catch the foot during toe-hooks.
- Resoleable: Can be resoled at official Scarpa resole centres, extending the shoe's lifespan.
